About Raymond
My journey has been shaped by education. I was born and raised in Western Massachusetts and graduated high school with honors in English. After settling in the Boston area, I obtained a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Massachusetts Boston. During my undergraduate studies, I learned the fundamentals of writing professionally that gave me the necessary tools to complete major research and creative projects. I applied what I learned from my undergraduate studies to obtain my master's degree in English with a concentration in creative writing from Bridgewater State University. My passion for writing was ignited by my master's degree, and I still practice it today. Currently, I work full-time at a major university in Boston and am striving to help others in the same way that my mentors helped me throughout my educational journey.

Through my teaching methods, I allow for open dialogue/conversation with the students, resulting in an open workshop style space that is unique to their learning style. A typical lesson plan will include a conversation about the source material or written piece, a review of some copy edits or notes, lessons on specific literature or writing subjects, and time for writing. What sets me apart from other tutors is my experience with different learning styles and my extensive knowledge of English studies. The lessons are suited for students at the high school and middle school grade levels.
