About Jacqueline
Hi! I’m Jacqueline, and I’m passionate about helping students feel confident, capable, and curious when it comes to learning. With a background in tutoring and youth engagement, I’ve spent years working with children in academic and social settings—from one-on-one tutoring sessions to summer camps and birthday parties. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Affairs, and I’ve always loved breaking down big, sometimes intimidating topics into manageable, easy-to-understand pieces. I specialize in elementary and middle school math and science, focusing on making lessons interactive, personalized, and encouraging. As a tutor, I’m patient, positive, and flexible. I know every student learns differently, so I adjust my teaching style to fit their needs—whether they’re a visual learner, hands-on explorer, or someone who just needs a little extra support to feel confident. I also value communication with parents or guardians to make sure we’re on the same page and working toward shared goals. As a passionate and patient tutor, I specialize in helping elementary to middle school students build confidence and a strong foundation in math and science. My background includes years of experience working with young learners not only as a tutor, but also in social and creative environments—like summer camps, birthday parties, and enrichment programs. This helps me bring a unique energy and empathy to each session. I aim to make learning engaging, structured, and low-stress, so students can truly enjoy the process.
Typical Lesson Structure:
5 minutes – Warm-up: A fun brain teaser or quick review to get us in the right mindset
10 minutes – Concept Introduction: We go over the day’s topic together using clear explanations, visuals, or analogies
20 minutes – Guided Practice: We work through problems together, step-by-step, to build skill and confidence
15 minutes – Independent Work: I let the student try problems on their own, offering help as needed
10 minutes – Review & Preview: We check understanding, clarify anything confusing, and set a goal for the next session
Every lesson is tailored to the student’s needs and learning style—whether they thrive with visuals, repetition, storytelling, or games. I also regularly check in with parents and caregivers to share progress and ensure we’re aligned on goals.
