About Poppy
I am an enthusiastic person who loves to help others. I am bubbly and engaging and I am able to talk to anyone no matter what their confidence level is. As I have completed my high school years recently, I understand the struggles and challenges and I aim to help overcome those learning struggles as I teach. I want to help build confidence in my students to maximise learning and create an enjoyment in the subject. I am encouraging and fun whilst also remaining focused on tasks and I will tailor my teaching to needs such as a lower concentration level.

I aim to tailor my lessons to fit the students' needs and I am used to working with students who may struggle to concentrate. Interactive and enjoyable lessons using resources and frequent check-ins to ensure maximum learning. I provide resources for the student and it will be appropriate for how they learn and their ability - leaving much room for improvement. I aim to target topics that the student struggles with most whilst also recapping topics they have learnt to ensure full memory of their work. I use quizzes to create an enjoyable way of testing what the student has learnt and for older years, I will provide past papers and questions to help with technique. I have tutored students in years 7 to 11 to help prepare for end of year exams, GCSEs and topic tests and all students have increased in grades for their work. For the past 3 years, I have visited many primary schools to help children across my city and this has been very beneficial to the students and I. I am able to teach ages 7 to 16 and I am fully DBS checked as I serve on children's teams at church, teaching to children there too. A typical lesson length will be 50 minutes long for students in years 7-11 and for younger ages lessons will be 30 minutes long.
