About Fatimah

I've tutored English since I was in third grade and have been a huge grammar and spelling freak since then, though I obviously don't force it on anyone. I have had a talent since then for writing essays, short texts, and even reports in all genres. I've never gotten anything less than an A on an English assignment or class, yet I am never condescending to people who don't have that. On the contrary, I'm delighted to help!

About the lesson

What distinguishes me from other tutors is that I curate an individualized lesson plan for each student depending on their needs and interests. I am beyond capable of teaching all elementary, junior, and undergraduate levels as well as just helping with corrections and proofreading. A typical lesson will vary, but generally speaking, it would start with a reading or writing activity to gauge a student's progress, then, based on that, a short lecture (if needed), a practice game or worksheet to solidify the lesson, and corrections on homework. I usually put a speaking, debate, writing, or analysis challenge in there to push students if they are comfortable. As bleak as all this sounds, I'm very social and understanding about all levels of speaking and needs, and try to make my lessons as conversational and casual as possible with my personal approach.
