About Shayan
I am a technically trained engineer and legal professional with a strong foundation in thermal-fluid mechanics, engineering analysis, and regulated systems. My academic background includes a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, and a Juris Doctor, and my professional experience spans advanced manufacturing, biopharma facilities, capital engineering projects, and compliance-driven technical environments.
At my core, I am a first-principles thinker. I enjoy breaking down complex systems into their governing assumptions, understanding where models apply, and identifying why they fail. This mindset shapes both how I solve problems and how I teach. I am particularly drawn to thermal-fluids, transport phenomena, and engineering decision-making in high-stakes, real-world contexts.
In addition to industry work, I am passionate about teaching and mentoring. I focus on helping students and professionals develop physical intuition, structured problem-solving skills, and confidence with difficult material, rather than relying on memorization. Many of the concepts that students find abstract or intimidating become intuitive once the underlying logic is made clear, and that “click” is what I enjoy facilitating most.
My combined engineering and legal training also gives me a unique perspective on responsibility, rigor, and judgment—how technical decisions are made, justified, and defended. Whether I am tutoring, consulting, or advising, my goal is always the same: to bring clarity to complexity and help others think more deeply and independently.
Outside of work, I value discipline, continuous learning, and service to the community, and I strive to integrate professional excellence with integrity and purpose.
