About Henry
I am currently in my third year of a Commerce degree at the University of Auckland, with a strong academic background in Business Studies, including an Excellence endorsement at NCEA Level 3.
Alongside my studies, I work in a management role within a company of around 90 employees. This gives me real-world business experience that I bring directly into my tutoring, helping students go beyond theory and understand how concepts apply in practice.
I am reliable, well-prepared, and focused on creating a supportive learning environment where students feel confident asking questions. I tailor each lesson to the student’s level and goals, whether that is building foundational understanding or aiming for Merit and Excellence.
I also place a strong emphasis on exam technique and clear communication, ensuring students not only understand content but can express it effectively to achieve higher grades.

My approach to tutoring is focused on making Business Studies clear, practical, and easy to apply in exams. I break down complex concepts into simple, structured frameworks so students can confidently recall and use them under pressure. A key part of my teaching is showing students how to build strong, well-structured answers that meet Merit and Excellence criteria.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes and are tailored to each student’s needs. A standard session includes revising key concepts, applying them to exam-style questions, and practising written answers with clear, targeted feedback. I place a strong emphasis on active learning, so students are consistently applying what they learn rather than just listening.
I use past exam questions and structured answer techniques to help students understand exactly how to approach different question types. This ensures they are not only confident with the content, but also with how to present it effectively in assessments.
My lessons are designed for NCEA Level 1 to Level 3 students who want to strengthen their understanding, improve their exam performance, or push towards higher achievement levels.
