About Lily
My love for literature and theatre is what inspired me to become a tutor. I enjoy exploring how writers and dramatists use language, structure, and form to communicate ideas, and I find it incredibly rewarding to help students discover that English is not simply about memorising quotations or exam techniques, but about engaging with powerful stories, characters, and ideas.

As a dedicated and enthusiastic English tutor who achieved a high A* at A-Level in English Literature. I offer personalised lessons for GCSE and A-Level students, helping them build essay-writing confidence, develop analytical skills, and achieve their academic goals. My teaching approach is tailored to each student's needs, whether they are aiming to improve their grades, prepare for examinations, or deepen their understanding of literature and language.
I use a combination of close textual analysis, essay planning, model responses, exam-style questions, and targeted feedback to help students improve both their knowledge and exam technique. For GCSE students, I focus on building strong foundations in textual analysis, structure, and language. For A-Level students, I place greater emphasis on sophisticated argumentation, critical perspectives, context, and comparative analysis.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes, although longer sessions can be arranged when preparing for examinations or coursework.
I achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE English Literature and an A* in A-Level English Literature. I have also been tutoring English for the past three years. I am currently studying Comparative Literature at University College London and have extensive experience analysing a wide range of literary texts, including Shakespeare, modern drama, Victorian literature, and contemporary fiction.
