"Chess boards rarely offer mercy when calculation errors manifest during critical tournament phases. After 12 years of coaching juniors and adults across Brisbane, I realize that most players struggle more with visualization than raw talent. Seeing students reach Australian junior podiums reinforces that rigorous training beats natural intuition every time.
