I chose to become a teacher because I enjoy helping others understand things that once felt difficult — and turning that into fun and confidence. I chose to become a math teacher because I want to change the way students see math. I want to turn their fear into curiosity, their confusion into confidence.
When I taught during my B.Ed internship, I realized that a simple explanation and a little encouragement could light up a student’s face.
