About Jyothis
I am a Computer Science graduate currently pursuing an MSc in Financial Data Science at University College Dublin. I have a strong quantitative background, with experience in mathematics, statistics, programming and analytical problem-solving.
I also have previous teaching experience as a Teaching Associate, where I supported and mentored university students in Machine Learning and Data Mining. This experience taught me the importance of explaining difficult concepts clearly, adapting to different levels of understanding, and creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.
I am now bringing that experience into Math tutoring for Primary and Secondary School students. My aim is to make math clear, approachable and less intimidating by breaking difficult topics into smaller, understandable steps.
I am patient, approachable and happy to adapt lessons to each student's needs, whether they need help with a particular topic, homework, revision or building stronger mathematical foundations.

My approach to tutoring is simple: I want students to understand the “why” behind math rather than simply memorizing formulas and steps.
I start by understanding the student's current level, the topics they find difficult, and what they want to achieve. I then explain concepts step by step using simple language, worked examples, and practice questions. I encourage students to try problems themselves and use mistakes as opportunities to understand where their reasoning went wrong.
A typical lesson is around 60 minutes. I usually divide the lesson between explaining the concept, working through examples together, and allowing the student to practice independently with guidance when needed.
I am a Computer Science graduate and currently studying an MSc in Financial Data Science at University College Dublin. Although I am new to professional tutoring, I have a strong mathematical and quantitative background and enjoy explaining technical concepts in a clear and approachable way.
My lessons are aimed at Primary and Secondary School students. I can help with building strong mathematical foundations, understanding difficult topics, homework, revision, and preparing for school assessments.
