About Joshua
I'm a software engineer with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Ryerson University and several years of professional experience building full stack applications across a range of industries. I've worked as a full stack developer, taken on freelance projects, and built my own software products from the ground up, so the knowledge I bring to lessons comes from real, hands-on experience rather than just textbooks.
I enjoy teaching because I remember what it felt like to be new to programming and how much a good explanation from the right person can change things. My goal in every session is to make sure concepts actually make sense to you, not just that we got through the material. I'm patient, approachable, and I adjust my pace and style to fit how you learn best.
Whether you're a student trying to get ahead in your courses, a beginner picking up your first programming language, or someone looking to level up in a specific language like Python, JavaScript, or Go, I'm happy to help you get there.

My lessons are hands-on from the start. Rather than spending hours on theory before writing a single line of code, I get students building real things as early as possible because that's genuinely how programming clicks. A typical lesson combines a quick walkthrough of the concept we're covering, working through syntax and exercises together, and then applying it to a small project or problem that actually means something to the student.
I tailor every session to where the student is at. If you're a complete beginner we'll start from the ground up with no assumptions. If you already know the basics and want to go deeper into a specific language or concept, we focus there. I work with students learning Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and Go, whether that's for school, a career change, or just personal interest.
