About Gabriel
Concertante Pianist:
He has been awarded on different occasions in national piano competitions and he has performed in most of the concert halls in Cuba, performing repertoires of both universal classical music and Cuban concert music with an emphasis on contemporary music.
He has participated in various festivals such as the "Young Pianists" festival sponsored by Doc. Solomon Mikowsky, the international festivals of "Contemporary Music of Havana" and "Chamber Music".
He has taken classes from the teachers Jorge Luis Pratt (Cuba-EU), Marcos Madrigal (Cuba-Italy), Luca Chiantore (Italy), Gabriel Urgell (Cuba), among others.
It is currently part of the catalog of the National Concert Music Center, an institution where he works since 2017.
He has a record production on his favor. "Beatriz Corona and the piano in Cuba". He is in another process in collaboration with the Colombian composer Marius Díaz as interpreter of his work.
Chamber Musician:
It has appeared with various groups in all the concert halls in Cuba. He has taken over the world premiere of various works. He has performed alongside top-level musicians. Anolan Gonzáles (Viola) and Marcos Madrigal (Piano) should be mentioned. With the first, he has had a duo since 2015, which integrates the catalog of the National Concert Music Center.
It has been presented at different festivals. Chamber Music Festival
Guido López Gavilán ”,“ Havana Chamber Music Festival ”,“ Festival
International Chamber Music of Cuba ”, several editions of the“ Leo Brouwer Chamber Music Festival ”.
It has a record triptych in this field. "Anolan Gonzáles and the viola in Cuba" (2019).
Repertorist Pianist:
He worked in the company "Teatro Lírico de Cuba" from 2015 to 2019 with excellent results and in the ISA chair of singing between 2015 and 2017. He has performed in different concerts as an accompanying pianist in the most prestigious venues in the capital of Cuba.
He has to his credit a vast collection of repertoire operatic titles ranging from early music to the 21st century. Has been a participant in
the world premiere of two operas, “The city of the arts”, Roberto Valera and "Mandragola", Ivan Jevtic.
He has collaborated with several foreign companies, including: Bayreuth Theater, University of Los Angeles, INCANTO Foundation, Puccini Foundation in Torre del Lago.
He has participated in festivals such as: "Le Voix Humaine" and "Counterparts of the world", sponsored by Leo Brouwer, "Puccinian Festival of Latin America".
He has shared scenarios with high-level figures: Manuel Bras (Portugal), Viktoria Lasaroff (Germany), Yolanda Hernández (Cuba-Germany), Andrei Maslakov (Russia).
*Music teacher.
He has worked as a piano teacher at "Conservatorio Alejandro García Caturla" (2015 -2017) and at "Conservatorio Amadeo Roldán" (2017). He has also studied music training for early childhood and adolescence. He currently manages music training workshops for children and young people in preparation for the school's educational music training.
