About Mimi

Mimi Jasson is a pianist from Toronto, Canada and graduated from the BMus Music program at Goldsmiths, University of London in 2017, with a first in performance. She is classically trained, but also specializes in contemporary piano works, most recently with performances of Relent by Graham Fitkin, 3 Preludes by Laurence Crane and Piano Piece IV by Frederic Rzewski. She also managed and played pieces for a contemporary composers collective, and a group of pianists, whom performed exclusively multi-keyboard works (ie: Steve Reich: Six Pianos). Mimi has had masterclasses with Graham Fitkin, Laurence Crane, Andrew Zolinsky and Danny Driver regarding research and playing contemporary works. In December 2017, she performed the London premiere of Graham Fitkin's double piano concerto, Circuit. She now teaches privately and in a secondary school in London.

About the lesson

Please note I do not offer free trial lessons.

With beginner students I usually start with the absolute basics. Drawing the piano, and writing in the notes. I will then recommend books we will work with to learn the basics of music theory, technique, scales and pieces. With students who have a basic understanding of music, I can analyze their level and work on building their skills from there
