About Nikita
I am currently working in a secondary school as a Learning Support Assistant, equipping me with the necessary work experience to pursue my aspiring role as a Youth Worker. I am passionate about breaking down social mobility barriers and the importance of bridging the widening gap that permeates between underrepresented groups of young people and their access to higher education. I have successfully utilised my technical expertise in engaging with the social climate to effectively identify gaps in existing systems that individuals navigate.

It is transformative for young people to understand the importance in having their own voice, ideas and opinions and to take pride in their education, practice compassion for themselves and others. An excellent and sustainable education encourages young people to solve solutions to their own problems, know their strengths, learn how to be a good team player, and how they can apply skills and talents to help themselves and others.
I would expect my tutees to try and generate their own solution to issues, through using a more non-directive style approach, in which they listen actively, reflect and summarise.
