About Stephen

Music has been a central part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve been playing saxophone for over 15 years, and my passion for music has taken me from studying at the Boston Conservatory and Manhattan School of Music to performing alongside world-class musicians in both the classical and jazz worlds.

What I love most, though, is sharing music with others. Teaching gives me the opportunity to help students discover their own voice, build confidence, and experience the joy that comes from making music. Whether you're a complete beginner, an experienced player looking to improve, or someone returning to music after time away, I aim to create lessons that are supportive, engaging, and tailored to your individual goals.

I believe learning an instrument should be both rewarding and enjoyable. My lessons focus on building strong fundamentals while encouraging creativity, curiosity, and a genuine love for music. No matter your age or experience level, I’m excited to help you grow as a musician and enjoy the journey along the way.

Although I specialize in more contemporary music, I am happy to explore whatever my students are interested in! I have training in classical music, jazz, free improvisation, composition, and even piano!

I have over 15 years of experience as a saxophonist and hold degrees from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee (B.M.) and the Manhattan School of Music (M.M. and postgraduate studies).

As an active performer, I regularly collaborate with world-class musicians across both the classical and jazz worlds, bringing real professional experience into every lesson.
