About Stephen
I have completed a BA in German, an MAT in Education, and 6 hours of post-graduate studies in Learning Disabilities. My facility with conversational German stems partly from a summer working in a factory in Bavaria and partly from six months work as an intern-counselor in a German boy's group home near Stuttgart. This past January I also tested out as a Berlitz certified teacher and translator.

I've helped spouses to communicate with their new German in-laws, people recovering the German they knew as children, and students already taking courses in school. For thoroughness and ease of student organization, I generally use a textbook, which I supplement with fairy tales, magazine articles, jokes from Germany, and whatever other materials are helpful and enjoyable for the student learner. In the cases of school students, we always take the homework and text preparation first, before any fill-in-the-gaps instruction.
