About Maririn

My name is Mariia, and I am Russian. I studied Japanese at the Japan Foundation language courses in Moscow, later completed an internship in Kanazawa, and also lived and worked in Japan for about two years, while continuing to study Japanese both on my own and with tutors. I also have experience staying with Japanese host families and working as a volunteer at a kindergarten in Japan, which gave me a much deeper understanding of Japanese culture and a great deal of experience interacting with Japanese people.

I have been teaching Japanese for over 10 years. My students start learning the language with me and later travel to Japan — some as tourists, others to enroll in long-term language school programs. Many of my students have successfully passed the JLPT, from N5 to N2, which I am very proud of!

For many years, I have taught Japanese online exclusively to Russian-speaking students from all over the world. Now I want to expand my horizons and try teaching in English as well. I would be delighted to help you learn this beautiful language!

About the lesson

Some students are preparing for the JLPT exam, others are getting ready for a trip to Japan, and some are simply learning Japanese for fun. Everyone has different goals, but I want each student to feel comfortable and confident during our lessons — moving steadily toward their personal goal.

My lessons are based on textbooks such as Minna no Nihongo, Marugoto, Tobira, Shin Kanzen Master, and Somatome. I use the Miro board with various illustrations and engaging activities to make learning enjoyable and never boring.

In our lessons, we can either practice conversational skills at a comfortable pace or focus intensively on JLPT preparation. I have passed JLPT N1 myself, I love explaining Japanese grammar, and I share useful tips and strategies for successfully solving reading comprehension tasks.
