About Katie
Starting as a peer tutor at the community college level, I have been passionate about offering tutoring services for many years. I have been a learning assistant in a third grade classroom as well as proofreader to friends and family. My interests began with keeping a diary at a young age, spanned creative writing and journalism, and culminated with high-level academic ethnography writing at the university level, for which I won the dean's award.

I love to be collaborative, and writing is such a collaborative art, despite its reputation for isolation. It takes a village to look at an idea from multiple angles, to see paths and possible errors on a page after having stared at it for too long. English can be daunting for some, but it is really just our way of storytelling. I like to find the magic in texts to bring language alive.
