About Nur
I am a former Foundation in TESL graduates and fresh grads from Bachelor of Corporate Communication. I struggled a great deal in primary school to learn how to communicating in English and I remember feeling so lost and confused although I have tried. My teacher, Mrs Teo, began tutoring me after school, and she quickly realized that the root of my problem was that I was struggling to grasp the concept of apply English to real life situations. I've always been so grateful for her commitment to meet me where I was, values that I strive to use in my own teaching. I only hope that I can make that same kind of positive impact on the minds and hearts of my students.
Thus, the idea of me to be a teacher so that I can make a real difference in children's lives. I take the task of developing young people into kind, thoughtful and contributing adults very seriously. I want to not only tell, but show my students that with commitment and hard work, they are capable of anything and can be anything that they want to be. I hope to create a safe place for the children in my classroom, where teamwork and empathy are rewarded just as enthusiastically as a good test score.

I usually start from topics the students are comfortable with and move gradually towards more complex areas as their confidence builds. I use questions and examples to check understanding continually. I don’t lecture to students or ask them to memorize things.
I mostly focus on exam-style or past paper questions in order to check, practice and perfect the student’s understanding and technique. I also give a lot of emphasis to some of the less obvious but vital skills such as essay structure and technique, logical thought, and the effective use of numbers and graphs.
I am a former Foundation in Tesl Graduates and fresh graduates from Corporate Communication. I have been tutoring for 1 and a half year. My classes are suitable for preschoolers (3-6years old) and primary students as I have experienced in babysitting job as well.
I believe passionately in the huge value of tutoring to students and take great satisfaction in seeing my students achieve their full potential.
