About Tiana
With over 4 years of experience and an MSc in Organic Chemistry, I bring a unique blend of academic knowledge and real-world application to my tutoring. My focus lies in integrating forensic chemistry and toxicology into the study of chemistry, making each session dynamic and career-focused. I guide students through the chemical principles behind drug analysis, trace evidence examination, and toxic substance detection. From understanding how poisons are identified to interpreting complex forensic data, I help learners see how chemistry supports crime investigation and justice. My teaching approach combines clarity, curiosity, and relevance. I break down analytical techniques such as chromatography, spectroscopy, and microchemical tests used in forensic labs. Whether it’s spectroscopy (NMR, IR, UV-Vis), chromatography, or quantitative analysis, I break down complex concepts into manageable steps.
I specialize in analytical chemistry and instrumental methods, guiding students through how each tool works and when to use it. For those studying genetics or microbiology, I connect chemistry to your field—highlighting how molecular structure and chemical reactions impact biological systems. I help students feel confident with the techniques they use in labs every day.
We explore data interpretation, error analysis, and experimental design in a way that feels approachable. I also support students in applying these skills in exams, reports, and research projects. Each session is shaped to fit your level, pace, and career goals.
I use plenty of visual aids, real-life examples, and practice problems to keep learning engaging and relevant. Mistakes are welcomed here—they're part of the process. I believe when students see how chemistry fits into their world, they learn better and feel more motivated.
