About Mikaela
My name is Mikaela McDonnell and I love teaching the piano. I am a classically trained pianist but I have a love of all music and support my students in what they want to learn.
I am a patient individual with a good attention to detail. I always aim for my students to leave their lesson with constructive goals and things to work on.
Music is my biggest passion in life, which I hope to pass on to you!

I will help you return to playing the piano after many years of no lessons or start your musical journey from scratch!
My lessons are 40 minutes in length and available nationwide as I teach online. I have a comprehensive online set-up with both a side view and an overhead view of the keys.
As a classical pianist I focus on good technique and finger strength, as well as making sure my students have a solid understanding of reading music.
I also strongly believe in building the ear in tandem to learning how to sight-read. This will allow for students to have the ability to play with others and not be reliant on sheet music. Creativity in lessons in hugely important to me as a teacher.
