About Jose

For the past 10 years, I have taught piano to nearly 300 students, including high school learners, college students, and adults. Teaching piano allows me to combine structured instruction with mentorship, helping students develop technical skill, performance confidence, and a love for music.

My teaching philosophy emphasises discipline, consistent practice, and expressive performance. I work on posture, hand coordination, finger control, scales, rhythm, sight-reading, and musical interpretation. I also encourage students to connect emotionally with their music to enhance their performances.

I design goal-oriented lesson plans and teach students how to practice efficiently at home. Many students have performed successfully in recitals, competitions, and school events, while others have earned high distinctions in graded music examinations.

My goal is to create a motivating and supportive learning environment where students feel inspired, confident, and capable of reaching their full potential as pianists.

About the lesson

My teaching philosophy for piano is centred on adaptation, flexibility, collaboration, and positivity. I understand that each student learns differently, so I customise lessons according to their pace, strengths, and goals. This ensures steady progress without unnecessary pressure.

I focus on developing technical accuracy, proper posture, hand coordination, and musical expression. I use creative exercises to improve rhythm, memory, and sight-reading. When challenges arise, I remain flexible and adjust my methods to help students overcome difficulties in a supportive way.

Collaboration allows students to take ownership of their learning. I encourage open communication and involve them in choosing repertoire that suits their interests. This builds motivation and discipline. I maintain a positive atmosphere where students feel inspired and confident.

In addition to piano performance, I teach music theory, ear training, keyboard skills, and basic music history. These related subjects enhance musical knowledge and performance ability. My goal is to guide students towards becoming confident, expressive, and well-rounded musicians.
