About Kaitlyn

I am a 22-year-old creative from Perth WA who has always had a strong love for fashion design sewing and anything hands-on and creative. I enjoy bringing ideas to life through sketching sewing and working with different fabrics and styles.

Outside of teaching I am very down to earth and enjoy exploring fashion inspiration styling ideas and staying creative in everyday life. I am naturally a hands-on learner and I love sharing that mindset with others, especially helping people feel confident when trying something new.

I completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Fashion Design at the Australian Academy of Fashion Design in Sydney in 2024 which helped me develop my technical skills and grow my confidence in both design and construction.

I am friendly, patient, and approachable, and I aim to create a relaxed, supportive, and enjoyable learning environment where students feel comfortable expressing their creativity and learning at their own pace.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is supportive, creative, and tailored to each student’s individual goals and skill level. I focus on building confidence while teaching practical fashion design and sewing skills in a relaxed and encouraging environment. I believe students learn best through hands-on practice, visual demonstrations, and step-by-step guidance.

My lessons can include sewing basics, garment construction, fashion illustration, fabric selection, pattern understanding, creative design development, and beginner fashion portfolio support. I adapt each lesson depending on whether the student wants to learn as a hobby, improve existing skills, or prepare for further fashion studies.

Lessons are typically 1–2 hours long and are available both online and in person in Perth, WA. I teach beginners and intermediate students of all ages, including teenagers, university students, and adults wanting to explore fashion and sewing creatively.

I hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Fashion Design from the Australian Academy of Fashion Design in Sydney (2024). Alongside my studies, I have developed strong practical skills in fashion design, styling, creativity, and customer-focused communication through both academic projects and industry-related experience.
