About Emmett
I picked up my first guitar at thirteen, completely mesmerized by the emotion one instrument could carry. That spark quickly became my lifelong passion. Over the past seven years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching students from all age groups and backgrounds, helping each one uncover their unique connection to music. As a teacher, I believe in meeting students where they are. I focus on encouragement, creativity, and building confidence through steady progress. My lessons are not just about chords or scales — they’re about helping students express who they are. I approach teaching as both mentorship and collaboration, ensuring every class feels engaging and inspiring. When I’m not teaching, I perform with local bands and work on composing original pieces. I bring those real-world experiences into my lessons so students can see how music exists beyond practice — it’s a living art. Watching a student’s journey from their first chord to their first performance remains one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.

In my guitar lessons, I strive to create an atmosphere where learning feels exciting and achievable. Music is personal — every student has their own rhythm and reason for playing. I help them discover that through structured yet flexible lessons that build strong technique while nurturing creativity. Each class is hands-on, interactive, and guided by the music that inspires them most.
For beginners, I focus on basic chords, rhythm, and strumming patterns to help them play songs quickly. Intermediate students dive into scales, improvisation, and stylistic diversity — from rock and pop to blues and fingerstyle. Advanced players refine tone, articulation, and performance skills, with lessons tailored to their creative goals. Songwriting, ear training, and recording are integrated for those interested in building artistry.
The most rewarding part of teaching guitar is seeing students light up when they realize they can truly make music. I’ve watched learners overcome self-doubt and turn into confident performers who express themselves freely through sound. Guitar playing teaches much more than music — it builds patience, focus, and resilience. My aim is to help every student reach that point where they stop worrying about playing “right” and start playing from the heart — that’s when the real music begins.
