About Serena

I hold a Master’s Degree in Piano Performance and have 9 years of experience teaching students at different skill levels. My academic training included solo recital preparation, ensemble collaboration, and advanced repertoire study. These experiences shaped my understanding of both technical mastery and emotional interpretation. Throughout my career, I have helped students prepare for recitals, examinations, and personal musical goals.

About the lesson

My piano lessons are designed to build technical strength while encouraging artistic understanding. We begin with posture alignment, relaxed wrists, and proper finger positioning to support healthy playing habits. I guide students through scale exercises, arpeggios, and coordination drills to improve finger independence and control. Rhythm practice includes steady counting methods and metronome exercises to strengthen timing accuracy. Each lesson begins with structured warm-ups that prepare the hands and increase focus before working on repertoire. I explain musical concepts clearly so students understand how technique shapes tone and expression.

As learners advance, we work on dynamic contrast, pedal control, and expressive phrasing. I divide challenging sections into smaller parts to build confidence step by step. Music theory is introduced in simple language to deepen understanding of harmony and structure. Performance preparation includes full run-throughs of pieces to improve concentration and stage confidence. Detailed home practice strategies are provided to support steady improvement between sessions.

My goal is to help students become disciplined and expressive pianists. I offer constructive feedback in a supportive way so learners stay motivated. Over time, students strengthen technical precision, refine tone quality, and gain performance confidence. I aim to create balanced lessons that combine structure with musical creativity.
