About Nana
Hailing from Amsterdam, Nana Kruger is a vocalist, composer, and interdisciplinary artist whose work blends strength in vulnerability, rich sonic color, and visual lyricism, inviting listeners into an intimate conversation they didn’t know they needed. Her practice explores womanhood, psychological safety, and transformation through sound. She recently graduated summa cum laude from The New School’s Master’s program in Jazz and Contemporary Music, where she received the Performer-Composer Dean’s Award. Rooted in intuition, body, and truth, her work moves between music and performance as spaces of reflection and care. Nana has performed at North Sea Jazz Festival, Paradiso, and The Stone, and collaborated with artists including Ruben Hein and Zuco 103. Now based in New York, she continues to develop immersive, cross-disciplinary work and sonic research.

Hi! I'm Nana.
My writing lessons are rooted in voice, rhythm, and language as sound.
Because I am also a singer and composer, I approach writing through sound, rhythm, and language as something physical. I grew up surrounded by poetry, songwriting, and lyricism, so I naturally think of writing as something that moves and breathes, not just something that communicates meaning.
We will always work from what you want to write. That can be poetry, creative writing, lyrics, or personal text. We can focus on getting ideas flowing, developing your voice, shaping structure, working with imagery, editing, or breaking through blocks when you feel stuck.
If you don’t yet know what direction you want to go in, I can bring exercises, prompts, and material to help you start writing and discover what feels natural to you.
