About Xinzi

Hello, my name is Xinzi. I was born in China and am a native Chinese speaker. I currently live in Singapore and can speak both Chinese and English.
I am a certified teacher of Chinese as a foreign language, holding CTCSOL qualifications, with extensive experience in teaching Chinese.
My hobbies are diverse. I enjoy hiking in nature and practicing yoga in quiet moments. I am also an avid reader.
I am a caring and patient teacher. I believe this will be my lifelong career. I have taught students from all over the world, from various industries and age groups—from young learners to seniors. It brings me immense satisfaction to see absolute beginners gradually be able to hold daily conversations, business professionals accurately communicate with clients and explain documents in Chinese after class, and healthcare workers fluently interact with patients in Chinese with my help.
I have always believed that language learning is not just about studying — it is one of your life goals. When you achieve your goal through hard work, you gain a sense of accomplishment and develop a greater love for life. I hope I can support you on your journey toward achieving your goals.

About the lesson

The Courses I Offer:
● Mandarin Speaking Courses for Beginners, Elementary, and Intermediate Students
This course is suitable for daily communication, making friends, travel, and workplace interactions.
● HSK 1-6 Courses
This course is suitable for comprehensively improving Chinese proficiency and is highly beneficial for preparing for the HSK exam.
● Work-Related Mandarin Courses for Professionals
This course is suitable for working professionals to communicate effectively with clients, explain documents, introduce projects, and interact with colleagues.
Teaching Methods:
Overall, my teaching approach follows the principle of "30% instruction, 70% practice," combined with cyclical review to maximize learning efficiency. The process is never dull or monotonous.
✓ Customized lesson plans tailored to each student’s level and needs.
✓ Preparation and sharing of PPT or WORD materials for each lesson, which serve as review resources—no need for students to purchase textbooks.
✓ Lessons are structured around different real-life themes. Each session includes a brief review, learning new content, and practice exercises. Periodic reviews (covering multiple themes) and comprehensive reviews are also conducted to ensure effective language acquisition based on scientific learning principles.
✓ Course content is not limited to textbooks. In addition to foundational knowledge, lessons incorporate topics of interest to students, such as current technological trends, traditional cultures from around the world, history, travel, pop culture, movies, and music, etc.

Note: Currently, my Mandarin courses are suitable for students aged 15 and above. Courses for young children are still under development. Thank you for your understanding.

Xinzi is an incredibly patient tutor. She caters to students needs and adjusts the lesson plan accordingly. She helps students translate and learn Chinese phrases for their work. When sending the lesson materials, she also ensures to leave a recorded voice note of her saying the phrases so that it is easier for students to learn outside of the lesson. Students enjoy the Mandarin lessons with her as she keeps them as engaging as possible. I recommend her to anyone who is a beginner and has no background in speaking Mandarin.
