About Olivia

Hi I'm Olivia! An international Chinese teacher with a background of working across borders. I have a Master‘s degree in Media Management and have studied and lived in Beijing, Taipei, London and currently live in Shanghai.

I love music, biopic and travelling. I have travelled to many countries. I love experiencing different cultures, wandering around local parks and markets, listening to music in the local language and photographing the beautiful scenery. For me, learning a new language is like having another perspective and gives you a better understanding of the world and of yourself.

---- My teaching and professional experience.
I have been working in the Chinese language teaching industry for two years, CTCSOL qualified and I have been teaching online since 2021. Before becoming a Chinese teacher, I was already certified at Level 1A in Mandarin, worked as a voiceover and journalist, and then spent many years in integrated marketing and project management, working with international media and overseas companies. I have also poured this professional experience into my Business Chinese teaching.

The most important thing in language learning is to develop yourself to build up a mindset for the language and to develop a sense of language instead of memorizing grammar rules.
I will help you to maximize your Chinese learning time by structuring the lessons to suit your interests and needs.
I will also provide post-lesson feedback and help you review in creative ways so that your Chinese expressions become more natural.

I am particularly conscious of sharing learning methods and of the selection of teaching materials. I ensure that my courses are special and interesting, lively and practical.

General Chinese
Topics include daily life, travel, studying abroad, business, official business and more.

Conversation practice
The materials are flexible, improve your Chinese speaking in the process of sharing and communicating.

Pronunciation practice
Pronunciation and intonation skills, listening and speaking practice. Audio files are available.

Business Chinese
Professional materials or tailor the courses to your work needs. Two types: intensive and regular.
