About Josefa

I am a Cuban-trained music teacher with a master’s degree in music. I teach in both English and Spanish and enjoy working with children and adults of different ages, abilities, and musical goals.

My approach combines strong musical foundations with patience, encouragement, and personal attention. I understand that every student learns differently, so I take time to explain concepts clearly and adapt my teaching to each individual.

My greatest satisfaction comes from helping students gain confidence, overcome challenges, and discover the joy of making music. I strive to provide a professional, welcoming learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing their abilities, and progressing at a pace that is both productive and enjoyable.

About the lesson

My piano lessons are personalized for each student’s age, experience, goals, and learning pace. I teach children and adults, from complete beginners to students who want to strengthen their technique, music-reading skills, rhythm, theory, and confidence at the piano.

A typical lesson includes a warm-up, technique exercises, note reading, rhythm, and carefully selected music that keeps the student motivated. I explain each concept in clear, manageable steps and provide practical guidance for practicing between lessons.

My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and structured. Students are supported while also being challenged to make steady progress. Lessons are available in English or Spanish and may be taken in person in Miami or online. My goal is for every student to develop strong musical foundations while genuinely enjoying the process of learning and making music.
