Mathilde is the daughter of really good friends. We spent 7 years seeing each other almost every week. She is the eldest of 6 and I've had the opportunity dozens of time to see her take care of her siblings to help her parents. She has developed strong relationships with all of them because she pays attention to each of them individually. She was also a life guard in a private club in California. She is responsible, very mature, always wants to give the best of herself, wants to do well and to help others succeed. She always has a kind word and encouragement for others. And she makes herself available if anyone needs her. French is her mother tongue and unlike other young people of her age, she has always been careful about the vocabulary and turns of phrase she uses. Meet Mathilde, my incredible eldest daughter.

I *may* be a bit biased, but I am proud to say that she is an exceptional individual. A native speaker of both English and French and more than proficient in Spanish, Mathilde is a patient, empathetic, and caring big sister to her six siblings. She demonstrated her remarkable patience during the COVID pandemic, taking over teaching her younger brothers while her parents were figuring out how to work from home on Zoom.

During high school, Mathilde volunteered as a tutor for students whose first language was not English. Both students and teachers overseeing the program loved her. She is also a certified lifeguard and swim coach, including for young children. Mathilde is highly respected in the community for her maturity, punctuality, and kindness.

As a mentor, tutor, and coach, Mathilde exemplifies positivity in her attitude and encouragement towards students facing hardships. She helps them stay motivated, focus on the end goal, and adopt a "can do" and "never give up" attitude, all while remaining kindhearted and cheerful.
