About VK
I have played the flute for over 9 years and still practice to this day. I have made top chairs in Honors band, All-State band, Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra, GYSO Flute Choir, Forsyth Central High School Winds Ensemble, and symphonic band at Western Carolina University. I have also marched the flute/piccolo for three years in high school before switching to percussion. I studied for seven years under the direction of Deborah Scarazzo and two years in undergrad from Kelariz Keshavarz. I have played multiple genres including jazz, contemporary, classical, and experimental over these past 9 years.

I structure the lessons in 30 minute increments to assure understanding and slow pacing per individual. I start everyone the same with understanding certain parts of the flute and position of the body to get the best sound. I also give book recommendations that will help you improve but also enjoy your learning. I’m great with young students as well and give each person personal goals to work on per lesson. During each lesson, I add a little bit of music theory and singing in order improve your musical talent and understanding of the music.
