About Devaassenan
Hello! My name is Devaassenan and I am an international student from Malaysia currently in my second year at the University of Oxford reading Physics. I have a strong passion for both Mathematics and Physics and an equally strong passion for teaching them. In many ways, I do feel the standard curriculum for both subjects in schools are lacking, namely, the endless plug-and-chug at which they present to students. I aim to motivate the concepts taught as knowing why we do what we do aids in how we do what we do. This explorative and motivative style of learning will help you achieve not only the grades you desire, but a passion for the subjects as strong as I do.

In my lessons, I always motivate a concept as I introduce it. Not only does this help the student grasp the concept better, it helps them retain a train of thought as the lesson progresses so they do not get lost. In my opinion, it is as important why we do something as how we do it. Physics nor Maths are spectator sports, hence we also aim to do problems together in class to help the student a get a good feel of the main steps in the solution and how the concepts manifest in different situations. Lessons typically last an hour or slightly longer as to not overwhelm the student. I have been tutoring students at my high school for two years prior to joining a private tutoring firm at which I worked for a year before beginning university. My lessons are geared for GCSE, A-Level and first year university students.
