About Amelie
Friendly business student who aims to motivate and inspire students to strive for the best grades. I am in my first year studying BSc Business Management with Marketing at university, and I have previously studied Business at both A-level and GCSE. I love Business because it is such a dynamic and fascinating subject with many areas of study. I had an incredible teacher at GCSE who sparked my love for the subject and I hope to do the same for my students.
I also did an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), for which I received an A*. I completed the 5,000 word essay on the question 'Why was Beatlemania considered to be a mass youth phenomenon?'. (Beatlemania refers to The Beatles). I really enjoyed this project and the skills I learnt have helped me at university.

My lessons are for GCSE and A-level Business Studies students as well as A-level EPQ students.
Lesson length will typically be an hour - this is flexible.
I also tutor on MyTutor and I am a relatively new tutor but I have experience being taught by tutors before and I am very enthusiastic about this.
I will structure my lessons with a starter activity, an explanation or walkthrough of content, a couple of main independent tasks and a consolidation at the end. To help students achieve their goals, I will help them set SMART objectives at the beginning of the sessions and break down how each one can be realistically achieved. Small goals will also be set for each lesson.
Progress will be measured by creating a checklist at the start of the sessions outlining the topics and rating them in levels of confidence.
After a number of lessons, the student can re-rate their understanding of each to see how far they have progressed. I think it is important to encourage independence and critical thinking in learning as well as creativity.
