About Zach
My name is Zach and I am 21 years old. My first instrument was trombone in 6th grade and thats really when music started to take over my life. I was in marching band all of middle school and highschool. During this time I dabbled with piano but starting about 8th grade I really dug into piano and guitar more. Piano took most of my attention by the time I made it to Ohio University. I was a trombone performance major freshman year but remained practicing piano more so it felt right to make a switch into that and I couldn’t love it more. I’ve dedicated hundreds of hours into playing and learning the piano. Specifically Jazz and Classical but throughout my college life I’ve been lucky enough to play with many different styles of bands. My major CMDi consist of contemporary music and digital instruments but it really set me up to work with new people every month. We’re set up in these bands chosen by our Proffesor and learning to work with everybody has been a great learning experience. My main band is Lavandula and we actively have 3 songs on streaming services and are working on an album to hopefully come out soon. Overall I enjoy the aspect of learning and teaching music and I hope it’s something I only grow at throughout life!

Giving lessons is something I’m getting more familiar with but fortunately I have been taught by good teachers and role models that have set up a blueprint for my own style of teaching. I like to create a week by week lesson plan on a doc that I’d share with the student and family to keep up to date on what the student is learning and wanting to learn. I love music and I love that other people are just as interested as I am. I hope to offer a responsible level of guidance that can further any student in the direction they want to achieve!
