I was trying to wrap my mind around slope for weeks, all I heard is "rise over run" repeatedly and I didn't have the slightest clue of what it meant. Heather explained the slope intercept form, point slope form, and standard form to me. Since then, slope has been the easiest thing in Algebra for me which I used to consider it the hardest.
