About Mariam

Hi! I’m Mariam Yamazaki, born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, and now a university student living in London. As a native Japanese speaker and a language learner myself (currently studying International business French!), I understand how rewarding—but also how intimidating—learning a new language can be. That’s exactly why I love teaching to make Japanese feel accessible, fun, and meaningful for every learner. Being in an international environment at university has shown me how powerful language is in connecting people and cultures. I want to share not only the language, but also the nuances, expressions, and everyday vibes of real-life Japanese—from casual conversation to cultural tips you won’t find in textbooks.
