About Alex

Hi my name is Alex and I am from a tiny island from the pacific called Fiji. I lived in China for 6 years as my mom is Chinese and my dad is Fijian. I am currently in Australia for my studies at University of New South Wales (UNSW). Growing up, mandarin was my first language. I would consider my mandarin speaking fluent without any regional accent. While myself being a very social and empathetic individual, being a tutor seemed to be the part time job I could consider while studying. Therefore with my fluent mandarin skill, it would be a great source of secondary income to support my studies. I am ready to commit in teaching and supporting all students with any difficulties they may have no matter their age or level or experiences.

About the lesson

Having tutored at several students before, I have decent experience and skills to adequately teach concepts to students while remaining patient and attentive to their personal responses. Every student excels in their own respective attributes and therefore a very small assessment on the first day of tutoring would allow me to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of each student to then provide them with a more personalised approach. These mandarin lessons are for all ages and levels whether it be beginner or intermediate and they would be conveyed via zoom calls for a typical duration of an hour.
