My approach to teaching math
I believe every child can enjoy math once it stops feeling like a list of rules to memorize. My classes focus on understanding why an answer works, so children build real confidence instead of just copying steps.
Teaching techniques and methods
I use simple everyday examples (money, fruits, toys, sharing food) so that numbers feel familiar. Wherever possible I use visual and hands-on aids such as number lines, counters, drawings, and games to explain addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and shapes. I move at your child’s pace and revisit a topic in a different way until it clicks.
Structure of a typical class
A quick warm-up (a mental math game or a recap of the last lesson)
A new concept explained with examples
Guided practice together, followed by questions the child tries independently
A short wrap-up, with light practice work for the week if the parent wants it
What makes my classes special
I am patient, encouraging, and never rush a child. Mistakes are treated as part of learning, not something to be afraid of. I keep lessons friendly and playful, and I can share simple progress updates with parents so you know what your child is working on.
Who the classes are for
Children in Classes 1 to 4 who want to build strong basics, need extra support with school math, or feel nervous about the subject. I’m happy to adapt to different school boards.
