About Srimathi

I'm a senior data scientist working in healthcare, with around 10 years of experience in the field and two master's degrees in Data Science and Health Data Science.

I combine academic knowledge with practical experience, helping learners understand how data science techniques work and how they can be applied to real-world problems.

About the lesson

What I can help you learn

Depending on your goals and current level, we can focus on areas such as:

Python/R: Understanding programming concepts and applying them to data tasks.
SQL: Learning how to query and work with data in databases.
Statistics: Developing a stronger understanding of statistical concepts used in data analysis.
Machine learning: Understanding model development, training, testing and validation.
Practical data science: Exploring the stages of a data project, from data preparation and feature engineering to model evaluation and deployment.
Power BI: Developing your understanding of data visualisation and reporting.

My professional work includes developing a machine-learning model to predict hospital readmissions, involving data preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, testing, validation and deployment.

A personalised, structured approach

You don't need to know everything before starting. We'll first establish what you already understand and what you want to achieve. I can then structure sessions around your learning objectives, whether you're a beginner, a university student strengthening your technical knowledge, or a professional developing practical skills.

I focus on breaking complex ideas into manageable steps and connecting theory to practical applications. Lessons can include explanations, worked examples, exercises and guided practice.

My goal is to help you build genuine understanding rather than simply follow instructions without knowing why they work.

Let's discuss your goals

Contact me with the topics you want to learn, your current experience and what you'd like to be able to do. We can discuss a suitable starting point and structure for your lessons.
