About Iftakhar

I come from a family with a rich legacy in teaching that spans four generations. Growing up, I was inspired by the various pedagogical methods my grandparents, parents, and relatives employed to meet the unique needs of each student. At just 10 years old, I began tutoring my younger cousins, turning learning into a joyful experience.

During middle school, I accompanied my mother on volunteer projects, teaching basic English and mathematics to underprivileged children in India. This experience was a turning point for me and solidified my desire to pursue a career in education.

In my GCSE years, I actively participated in peer tutoring, collaborating with friends to innovate new ways to tackle challenging science and math concepts. This collaborative spirit helped me achieve top scores of 99% in Maths, Science, and English, which encouraged me to start tutoring GCSE students while completing my A levels. Soon after, I began teaching biology and organic chemistry to AS and A level students.

Since 2021, I have been a private tutor for over 20 students in grades 8 to 12, covering subjects such as physics, chemistry, biology, English, mathematics, and social sciences. My approach involves creating customized lesson plans tailored to each student’s unique learning style, which enhances their comprehension and critical thinking. I also help students prepare for competitive exams like Olympiads, guiding them to achieve outstanding results.

Currently, I am pursuing an MSci in Genetics at the University of Manchester, with aspirations of becoming a professor. If you’re struggling with science and math at any school level, I’m here to help. My goal is to not only improve your academic performance but also foster a genuine love for learning. Teaching is my passion, and I look forward to embarking on this journey with you.

I structure my lessons to ensure they are tailored to each student’s unique learning style and needs. Lesson Structure: 1. Initial Assessment: During the first lesson, I conduct an informal assessment to gauge the student's current understanding and identify specific areas for improvement. This helps me tailor future sessions effectively. 2. Lesson Plans: I prepare detailed lesson plans for each session, which include clear learning objectives, key concepts to cover, and the methods I'll use to engage the student. I incorporate various teaching strategies, such as interactive discussions, problem-solving exercises, and hands-on activities, to reinforce learning. 3. Feedback and Adaptation: After each lesson, I gather feedback from the student to assess their understanding and comfort level with the material. I adapt subsequent lessons based on this feedback, ensuring that we are always progressing at a suitable pace. 4. Regular Review: I integrate regular review sessions to reinforce previously covered material, helping to solidify the student’s understanding and retention of concepts. This can be either in form of 10 multiple choice questions, that are based on topics covered in previous week or they can be in form of 2 subjective questions covering previously taught material. The goal of these mini tests is to ensure student refreshes its previous learning and simultaneously learn new concepts, so a lot of revision is covered even before final exams. This structured approach not only enhances the learning experience but also builds student confidence and promotes academic success.
