About Ivy

My connection to the piano began in childhood when I discovered how music could tell stories words never could. Over the past nine years, that fascination evolved into a career defined by passion, patience, and artistry. Teaching piano allows me to share the wonder I’ve always felt when my hands meet the keys—to help others experience the same joy of self-expression through music. My teaching style combines precision and creativity. I guide students through disciplined technique while encouraging freedom of interpretation. I believe that true musicianship grows from curiosity, and I nurture that curiosity in every lesson. I adapt my methods to each student’s personality and goals, ensuring progress feels personal and inspiring. Beyond teaching, I perform in local recitals, compose music, and study piano pedagogy to continually refine my methods. For me, teaching piano is about more than training musicians—it’s about helping people connect with themselves through music, confidence, and the timeless beauty of sound.

About the lesson

My piano lessons are built on one guiding belief: music should feel alive. I design every session to balance structure with discovery, ensuring students master the technical foundation while experiencing the joy of musical expression. Whether learning classical pieces or improvising melodies, students are guided to connect emotionally with the keys and build a relationship with the instrument that feels deeply personal.

Beginners start with hand positioning, rhythm, and note reading, progressing through engaging exercises that make practice rewarding. Intermediate students focus on phrasing, dynamics, and stylistic expression, while advanced players explore interpretation, performance skills, and musical theory integration. I also include composition and sight-reading for students interested in creative exploration.

By the end, students develop both technical command and expressive sensitivity. They play with confidence, emotional awareness, and musicality—understanding that the piano is not just a tool for sound, but a language of feeling and imagination.
