About Athirah
Hello! I am a Special Education Teacher with a Master’s degree in Developmental Psychology from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).
I have experience working with children across different ages and learning needs. Previously, I worked with homeschooled students aged 8 to 14, teaching mainstream subjects including English, Science, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Bahasa Melayu.
I currently work as an Early Intervention Program (EIP) Teacher, supporting young children from 4 to 9 years old in developing the skills they need for learning and everyday life. My role involves creating personalized Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) based on each student’s abilities, needs, learning goals, and developmental progress. I also prepare and adapt teaching materials and activities according to each student, which may include hands-on and play-based activities rather than relying solely on traditional paper-and-pencil work. Depending on each child’s individual needs, I provide support in various areas, including but not limited to gross motor skills, fine motor skills, language and communication, number and letter recognition, early writing skills, social development, and self-help skills.
I have experience conducting both one-to-one and group-based lessons. Through private tutoring, I hope to provide students with focused attention and a learning experience that is personalized to their individual strengths and needs.
I believe that every child learns differently. My goal is to create a supportive and engaging environment where students can learn at their own pace, build confidence, and make meaningful progress.

Every child learns differently, and my approach is to understand the child first before deciding how to teach them. As a Special Education Teacher, I have experience providing personalized learning support and developing IEP-based goals according to each student’s individual needs, abilities, strengths, and areas for development.
For private tutoring, I provide engaging and structured lessons that are adapted to the student’s learning pace and preferred learning style. I use suitable activities, visual supports, repetition, hands-on learning, and other strategies when needed to help students understand and participate more confidently.
My goal is not simply to complete a lesson, but to help each student make meaningful progress while developing their confidence, independence, and learning skills. I believe that with the right approach, every child can learn and succeed in their own way.
Lessons can be tailored according to the student’s current abilities, specific learning goals, and areas that require additional support. Parents will also be kept informed about their child’s progress and areas to continue working on.
