About Livia
I am a violin teacher with 6 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance. I have taught over 150 students from young beginners through to advanced examination candidates. My teaching covers bowing technique, vibrato, intonation, phrasing, and expressive musicality. I prepare students for ABRSM and Trinity examinations and offer orchestral preparation. My approach is warm, structured, and adapted to each student's pace and goals. I have helped students achieve strong examination results and develop into confident performers. Let me help you build a strong violin technique and genuine love of this beautiful instrument.

My violin lessons are structured to develop strong healthy technique and genuine musical understanding from the very first lesson. Every session starts with posture review, bow hold check, and a warm-up of scales and bowing exercises to prepare body and mind. Bow technique receives strong early focus as it most directly impacts tone quality and musical expression at every stage of development. Intonation is developed through systematic scale work, careful listening, and tuning technology feedback. Exam students follow the required syllabus with regular mock assessments and detailed feedback on all components. Advanced students work on shifting, vibrato development, and expressive interpretative skills. Backing tracks develop rhythmic awareness and ensemble sensitivity. I provide sight-reading coaching and ensemble skills for students joining orchestras. Clear specific feedback after every run-through gives students actionable improvement goals. My goal is for every student to develop a confident technique and enduring love of the violin.
