About Toby
I have been studying languages for years and have always enjoyed the challenge. I believe learning a language is something everybody should have the opportunity to do and should not be limited to native speakers or those who pick languages up more easily.

Depending on your language ability, teaching will vary. For GCSE and A level students, I will be talking over past papers and encouraging them to complete one paper a week which I will mark and give feedback on. On top of this the lessons will be delivered in the target language, tailored to the student's ability. For children below 11, I will be teaching in a more interactive way, playing games and reading picture books to relate their newly learnt vocabulary to pictures. Lessons will normally last from 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the student's schedule or ability. I achieved A-level grade A in both French and Spanish in 2025. I am also studying French as part of my degree alongside politics at The University of Manchester. Previously, I have held assemblies in local schools to encourage students to learn another language or keep up their native language, it is something I am passionate about and believe everybody should have the opportunity to learn an additional language.
