About Maria

I'm from Russia, from central Siberia, and I'm a degreed linguist and interpreter with three working languages (Russian, English, Spanish). So far I've been teaching for a bit more than six years, the age of my students has varied from 3 to 48 years old:) I have gained experience in many kinds of teaching for different needs: I've prepared for exams, helped with home tasks, offered speaking classes, etc. I’m a native speaker of Russian, but also I actually do speak good Russian: I’m absolutely sure that to be born in a country is not enough to become a professional speaker of its language; to master your mother tongue you should read classic literature and practice your communication on high levels, so be sure, I’ve done all that:)

About the lesson

As a native speaker of Russian with a deep love and interest in my native language, I teach grammar, focus on extending vocabulary, work a lot on pronunciation and, if my students want to, enhance the programme with insights into Russian cinematography and literature, which is not only an exciting cultural experience, but also helps to reinforce listening and reading skills.

In every class, she thoroughly explains the knowledge points, combines the knowledge and exercises to help her student to remember better. She encourages students to speak Russian and tries to improve their pronunciation.
After every class, prompt exercises help me consolidate the knowledge points.
Besides, Teacher Maria is not only humorous in her class，but also knowledgeable about the culture of Russia, her fatherland. As her student, I learn Russian and broaden my horizons at the same time. I have a lot of fun in Maria’s classes.
