About Lisa
I am Lisa Gardner-Wright, a newly certified TEFL teacher. I also have a Bachelor's degree in French and Linguistics. I have 6 months of experience as an English teaching assistant. This was during my year abroad in France where I aided teachers in Quintefeuille College with their English lessons.
I have experience preparing exercises, activities and collecting content to use in on and offline classes. I just started volunteering for refunet, where i teach english to refugees online here in England. I am ready to build and improve upon my experience as a teacher and i will highly appreciate the opportunity to be given a chance and a fair shot.
I am very creative in coming up with ways to keep students engaged as I also once studied a second language, hence I can totally related and understand some of the struggles that my students may experience. I am very flexible and patient. I can also put together class discussions where students are allowed to ask questions and voice their opinions. I always encourage my students to make an effort even if they are not a 100% sure if they are expressing themselves correctly. I tend to observe the progress of the students and maintain student records.
I am computer literate. I can adjust materials used in teaching to suite each student.
I have lots of patience and I always treat students with respect and a friendly attitude. I also possess excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. I am reliable, punctual and self motivated. Looking forward to working with you. I
