About Savannah

With 8 years of teaching and professional performance experience, I am a passionate violin tutor committed to helping students develop technical skill, artistic expression, and self-confidence. I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners discovering foundational techniques to advanced learners preparing for recitals, competitions, and exams.

One of the highlights of my career has been seeing students grow from struggling with posture, technique, or stage confidence to confident performers capable of playing with skill, emotion, and expressive musicality. My teaching emphasises building strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also fostering creativity, musical interpretation, and expressive performance.

I integrate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to provide students with a holistic and well-rounded understanding of music. Lessons are adapted to each student’s pace, goals, and learning style, creating a supportive, patient, and inspiring environment where students feel encouraged to explore, express themselves, and achieve their full potential. Teaching violin allows me to nurture confidence, discipline, and a lifelong love for music.

About the lesson

I teach violin using a methodology based on motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, designed to balance technical proficiency with artistic growth. Lessons are fully customised to each student’s abilities, goals, and learning style, combining technical exercises, creative projects, improvisation, and performance preparation.

Motivation drives engagement. I help students set meaningful goals, monitor their progress, and celebrate milestones, fostering perseverance, self-confidence, and a love for music. Students learn to approach challenges positively and to value consistent practice.

Communication ensures lessons are collaborative and interactive. Students feel comfortable asking questions, sharing difficulties, and exploring ideas freely, creating a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Creativity is a cornerstone of my teaching. Improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises allow students to explore their artistic voice and develop an emotional connection to music. Integrity emphasises disciplined, responsible practice and respect for learning, cultivating habits that ensure long-term growth and success.
