About Shervaan
I have studied acting for 10 years. I have taken part in LAMDA (London Academy of Music And Dramatic Art) exams for five of those years, initially earning three merits and two distinctions for my performances. I am also a graduate of ACT Cape Town, which is a private acting school, where learners are coached by local veteran actors and directors. I am also a professional Screenwriter and Script Editor, having worked on series for the SABC, as well as having contributed to local feature films.

Each topic has its own challenges. Teaching Acting For Film, precision and consistency is the key. You have to hit your mark every single time and be consistent with the delivery of your lines and the actions you perform in a given scene. Teaching Character Creation is about allowing the student to explore the space around them and inhabit the skin of their characters. It requires patience, yet it also requires you pushing them out of their comfort zone.
Screenwriting is a whole other beast. A writer has to have a voice. To start, finding that voice has to be the priority. Structure has to be learned and mastered over time. Your characters' wants need to be made clear, and met or not met. We'll tackle the journey of the character and more in our lessons to help you become the writer you are meant to be.
