About Jaiveer
I am a soloist drummer from Jamaica where the djembe drum is very popular because of our African roots. I have won the best drummer award in 2025 at the Jamaica Cultural Development Drum Festival competition. I worked with a group of the best young drummers in high school where we won countless trophies. I would love to teach this tradition to other people. It is an excellent instrument for relaxation and a great new skill you can learn.

We will start with the fundamental building blocks of the djembe—mastering the bass, tone, and slap strokes—before moving into traditional polyrhythms, timing, and solo techniques. My teaching approach focuses on proper posture and hand placement to keep your playing fluid and injury-free, while also infusing historical and cultural context into every session. Together, we will build your musical confidence, develop your internal groove, and explore the joy of rhythm in a supportive, fun, and engaging environment
