About Sam
Hey, I’m the founder of Salty Dreads Australia, based in beautiful Tasmania. I’m a traditionally trained hairdresser, fully qualified Loctician and Trichologist, and I’ve been working with hair—and obsessing over great dreadlocks—for years. I’m all about doing things properly: clean sections, healthy scalps, and techniques that actually work on all hair types. No gimmicks. Just damn good locks, made to last.

I’m a Master Loctician, Trichologist, traditional Hairdresser, and the founder of Salty Dreads Australia—a specialist dreadlock salon built on years of hands-on experience and technical know-how. I also developed The Salty System—a comprehensive, professional locking method created in collaboration with experts across hair, scalp health, and hairdressing. It's thorough, clean, durable, and tailored for all hair types.
I’ve worked with every type of hair, every kind of lock, and every kind of challenge. My approach is rooted in respect—for the craft, the client, and the culture—and backed by deep technical skill. Whether you’re just starting your dreadlock journey or already in the game and want to refine, expand, or totally level up your skills, I’ve got the training to get you there.
This is not cookie-cutter content or quick-fix TikTok hacks. This is real training with real results—techniques that last, systems that make sense, and guidance that doesn’t cut corners. You’ll walk away knowing not just how to do it, but why it works, how to troubleshoot, and how to give clients a professional experience from start to finish.
I offer flexible training tailored to your needs—one-on-one, group, in-person, or online—and I’m always up for creating custom pathways for serious learners.
